Research Interests
I am interested in the causes and consequences of industrial agglomeration — how and why manufacturing activities concentrate in space, and what this means for local labor markets, productivity, and long-run growth.
My dissertation focused on external economies and Italian manufacturing dynamics, studying unemployment fluctuations, productivity, and employment growth in local labor market areas. I am also interested in how macroeconomic trends and global shocks interact with local economic structures to reshape the geography of production.
Fields: Empirical Industrial Organization, Labor Economics, Regional and Urban Economics.
Keywords: industrial districts, local labor markets, external economies, firm size, agglomeration.
