Research Interests
I am interested in the causes and consequences of industrial agglomeration — how and why manufacturing activities concentrate in space, and what this means for local labor markets, productivity, and long-run growth.
My dissertation focused on external economies and Italian manufacturing dynamics, studying unemployment fluctuations, productivity, and employment growth in local labor market areas. I am also interested in how macroeconomic trends and global shocks interact with local economic structures to reshape the geography of production. My recent research extends this perspective to defense economics and the reconfiguration of European defense value chains.
Fields: Empirical Industrial Organization, Labor Economics, Regional and Urban Economics.
Recent interest: Defense economics and European defense value chains.
Keywords: industrial districts, local labor markets, external economies, firm size, agglomeration, defense production.
